Day 18: Think of the Children!
Per our Day 17 discussion of Project Runway, I thought it would be really fun and mean (oh, and impossible) to make you design something somehow representative of the book. Fortunately for you, I feel like I’ve done enough of those vague “this book is a little weird and big just like THIS” entries for a while. Besides, it’s hard to imagine how either of us could come up with anything better than these masterpieces:
I know that one isn’t supposed to ask these sorts of questions about high fashion, but I’m dying to know: How is that shoe-hat supposed to stay on?!
So anyway, I came up with two other ideas and will allow you to choose between them. The theme is Infinite Jest: Not Just for Grownups Anymore. Your options:
1.) An Infinite Jest-inspired board game.
2.) An Infinite Jest-inspired placemat. Like one of the flimsy ones with stupid activities that restaurants keep for children to occupy them while they wait for their food.
It doesn’t need to be a masterpiece, but you can have a few days to work on it if you think that you’ll need extra time. Also, unless you have some task that you’re dying to torture me with, I’ll do whichever activity you don’t. An ordinary piece of paper is fine. I’m a little worried about photographing these things so that it will be visible here, but I’m sure that we (ha, you!) will manage to come up with a good solution for this problem in time.
